The Herringbone Headband
The Herringbone Headband is a fun knit with so much texture. You will be stylish and cozy warm from Fall to Spring. Perfect choice for keeping your ears warm, work well with your hair down or up in a messy bun.
Written for adult size but is easily adjustable for other sizes. Advanced beginner skill level, but I’ve included numerous video tutorials to help with most steps.
It’s knit in the round on circular or DPN.
What you’ll need:
Needles: 12 mm/ US 17 on 16-20” circular or DPN, 8 mm/ US 11 needles required for bind off (larger sized needles are required due to the dense texture of the design)
Yarn: Super Bulky - like Malabrigo Rasta or Baah Mammoth
Light Super Bulky - like Malabrigo Noventa or Baah Sequoia
Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Tape Measure
** recommend row counter and handheld steamer (optional)
Gauges: (on 12 mm needles in herringbone pattern)
Super Bulky - 7 stitches x 6 rounds = 2” x 2”
Light Super Bulky- 9 stitches x 7 rounds = 2” x 2”
DO NOT KNIT TIGHTLY Gauge is difficult to measure with this design, it is given as a reference to check your work as you go. A swatch isn’t necessarily required.
