Named for Handknit Yarn Studio’s mascot-pooch Dingo, The HKYS “Dingo’s Treasure” is a triangular lace-knit bandana or shawlette, finished with a fun knitted-on edging adorned with eyelets and pearls (or gemstones or beads or bobbles or nupps!). Dingo’s Treasure is based on Estonian lace-knitting patterns with some special techniques and charts, and presents an enjoyable learning challenge to any knitter that has learned the basics of lace knitting.

A few things we’re gonna learn along the way:

  • Estonian lace charts and symbols
  • Nupps! Nupps. Garter-tab cast-on for triangular shawls Basic triangular shawl construction using charts
  • Knitted-on edging (a satisfying alternative to ordinary bind-offs)
  • Designing with beads

This is a great one-skein project that uses less than 100g of worsted-weight or DK yarn. Heavier weight yarn might need more than one skein.
