The Honeycomb Puff
This pattern is for all those crocheters out there that secretly wish they could knit…
I’ve adored the beekeeper’s quilt ever since my love affair with yarn began. Unfortunately, knitting is just beyond my skills, so I set out with the goal of figuring out how make the perfect crochet hexipuff that still captures that lovely texture and structure found in knitting.
This is a great pattern for working up on the go. All you need is a hook and a mini skein of yarn, and you’re all set!
The Honeycomb Puff is worked in the round, using the waistcoat stitch (also known as the knit stitch). Familiarity with this stitch, as well as how to increase and decrease is necessary. These hexagons can either be stuffed with polyfill to create a “puffed” look, or left flat to create a thick quilted look. They’re perfect for making all sorts of things! Seat cushions, cat toys, sachets, blankets, tea cozies… but be warned, once you start, you’ll have a hard time stopping. They’re addictive!
