The Hug (“el abrazo” in Spanish), it is what we miss so much in these difficult times, in which we have had to adapt our routines, our way of expressing affection … so many things. For this, I would like you to feel this shawl as a comforting and warm hug.

This pattern is designed in Aran weight yarn, but you can use any weight yarn and needle size, just keep in mind that it will change the dimensions and appearance of your shawl.
The dimensions can be changed, either by repeating the body section as many times as you like to get a larger shawl, or by removing repeats and the result will be a smaller shawl. You can also make the fringes bigger, voluminous, or not put them. All of these variations will change the amount of yarn you will need.

Skills:
-read charts
-work stitches like: knit, purl, yarn over
-work decreases like: k2tog, ssk, sl1-k2tog-psso

Measurements:
155 cm wide across top edge x 78 cm deep at center back (after blocking and without measuring the fringes).

Dimensions are easily adaptable.

Materials:
-Aran yarn (I spent about 230 grams in total of Garnstudio DROPS Nepal, color “dark grey”, mix 0506. I spent 15 grams on the fringes)
-6 mm circular needles (you will need a long cable; I have used one of 100 cm)
-optional: 7mm or 8mm needle for bind off
-optional: crochet hook for put the fringes
-4 stitches markers
-tapestry needle
-scissors
