The gauge is not really that important in this project. You need a good amount of crochet thread, a decent doily pattern, some material for the lining, and just a skein of yarn - it can really be of any weight.

NOTE: The pattern instructions linked here are for the knitted bag portion only. A crocheted doily (pattern not included, your choice) is attached after finishing for decoration.
