These finger puppets are based on some of the major characters from Disney’s 1967 animated movie. If you want to stay true to the original stories of Rudyard Kipling, you might want to omit King Louie.

I just had fun figuring out how to make them, and concluded I might as well share the pattern. This is just fan-made Disney pattern. So, because of copyrights and stuff, please just make them for yourself or to give away :).

The pattern includes:

• Mowgli the man cub
• Baloo the bear
• Bagheera the black panther
• Shere Khan the tiger
• Kaa the snake
• King Louie the orangutan
• A Bandar-log monkey

Together, this should be enough to cover all 10 digits…

They are knitted mostly using DK on 3.5 mm needles, but they can be made with small bits of whatever yarn you like, as long as 12 sts in the round fits around the finger. Some parts use some fuzzy eyelash yarn, and that’s where the 4 mm needles come in.
Most parts are knit in the round, with the exception of the ears, Kaa’s body and the monkeys’ heads. There are no samples of Shere Khan and the monkey, but they are rather similar to Bagheera and King Louie, respectively.

If there is an error or if something is unclear, please let me know!
And have fun making them!
