Have you got a lone skein of 4ply sock yarn in your stash that you don’t know what to do with? Then the Lady of Shalott Shawl is for you!

The four rows of wavy stitches makes the rest of the shawl undulate like ripple across a lake. I’d recommend some self striping yarn. Or possibly using one colour for the waves and another for the stocking stitch. The pattern is both charted and written out so you can choose your desired format.

Thanks to Quil from Love and Lovelier on Etsy for coming up with the perfect name! If you have ever read Tennyson’s poem or seen the numerous depictions of the Lady of Shalott then you know why this is the perfect name!

Thanks too to Max, Kath and Cath for testing my pattern!
