THE LEE is a ribbed bucket winter hat, knitted in the round, from the bottom-up. Classic, timeless shape, fitting to any style, age and occasion. Aran weight yarn in favorite color (solid, colorful, striped) provides this lovely wind and cold protection (the lee). Allows you to add authentic décor that will bold personality.
Pattern is written in English (no chart), stitch by stitch, round by round. Suitable for beginners.

For this hat, You need :

  1. Skills: knit, purl, decrease, knitting in the round on DPNs (4+1);

  2. Needles:

    • DPNs (4+1) and optionally combine with 16” (40cm) circular needle in US 4 / 3.5mm; (the needles are thinner to make the brim stiff);
    • tapestry needle for weaving in ends;
    • optional crochet hook (3.5mm-4.5mm) for some flowers.
  3. Yarns – shown women’s hat – normal size (L/XL) is made with approx. 1,5 balls /~150gr of Alize Superlana Midi, aran weight (budget friendly) mixed woolen yarn (1 ball=170m ~186yds / 100gr, machine wash on 30°C), ~260m in total;
    (just in case, have 2 balls of this or similar yarn)

  4. Six (6) clover locking stitch markers;

  • for head circumference 56-60cm/22.4-24” (1”=2.5cm);
  • hat’s brim circumference 109cm/43.6”
  • depth: 22.5cm/9”; One size fits all.
