This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawlette. The bottom of the shawlette is enhanced by beads, and there are two different lace patterns contained within the pattern. Both laces follow the line of the crescent shaped shawlette, including the “insert lace.”

The shawlette measures 68 inches wide, and 18 inches long at the deepest point. This generous wingspan provides you with many wearing options. It will certainly become one of the most versatile garments in your closet, so you can be sure that it will be worn (and admired) often.

If you haven’t tried bead knitting, but would like to, this would be an ideal pattern, as all the beading is contained in the first 3 rows. The shawlette can also be knit without the beadwork, should you prefer it that way. There are two methods of bead knitting explained within the pattern.

The two lace stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawlette was expertly test knitted by Barbara Robertson, who can be contacted at: Barb. Robertson@gmail.com, and who is known on Ravelry as, NanaKnits4Us. The yarn used in the sample is Shalimar’s Breathless in colorway, Primula.
