I used a Susan Bates size K10.5/6.5mm inline crochet hook and 1 skein of Lion Brand Heartland Yarn in 105 Glacier Bay dye lot 113097.

To make the scarf I followed the stitch pattern at the link above. I made my scarf 3 fans wide and 22 fans long, then I finished off the scalloped end. I marked the right side with a stitch marker, went back to my beginning chain and crocheted 22 more rows of fans so the scarf would have scallops at both ends. I finished it off and sewed the ends in.

This scarf is very easy to crochet and it would be easy to make it wider and use it as ab oblong shawl/wrap.
