The body of this cowl is worked in back and forth rows up to the head and can easily be made wider or narrower by crocheting more or less rows when working the body.
The head is also worked back and forth, with the ears made separately.

Yarn used:

  • 4 balls Debbie Bliss Rialto Chunky in Rust
  • 1 ball Debbie Bliss Rialto Chunky in Ecru
  • a small quantity of Debbie Bliss Rialto Chunky in Black.

Otherwise I would recommend a merino or wool/cotton blend with some drape.

Gauge isn’t too important so if you wish you can experiment with yarn and hook to get a texture you like, I have used an 8mm hook.

Also you could use a smaller hook and lighter weight yarn to make a child sized version.
