The Loft Vest is worked from the bottom up, flat. The top is split at the underarm and the front and back are worked separately. A button band is added once the body is complete. Lastly, i-cord edging is worked around the collar and armholes, and two pockets are worked and sewn to the top.

The top has 6-8 inches (15.5-20.5 cm) positive ease built into the sizes. There is a schematic provided so you can adjust the size made based on the ease you would like.

Suggested Yarn: bulky weight yarn, sample yarn: KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky

Yardage: About 510, (590, 650, 750), (810, 880, 1000), (1120, 1240) yards of bulky weight yarn

Materials: bulky weight yarn, circular needles, 3 stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holder, measuring tape, darning needle, 3 buttons (¾ in or 20 mm diameter)

Gauge: 11 stitches and 32 rows per 4x4 inch (or about 10.25 cm) square in brioche stitch, worked flat and wet blocked.

Needles:
US 9 - 5.5 mm circular (24 - 40 inches and 16 inches for armhole edge) or needles needed to obtain gauge.

Techniques: knitting, purling, slipping stitches, decreasing stitches, holding stitches, binding off, i-cord edge, wet blocking, brioche stitch
