Two balls each of two contrasting colors are needed to complete pattern. A circular needle is recommended, since at times so many stitches will be on the needle.

The sweater has almost no seams. The body is knit together as one large piece and later split for front and back. After stitches are cast off for the underarms, the sleeves are knit separately and then are added to the body piece. The yoke is then knit in a contrasting color.

The button/neck band is picked up and knit around the entire front and neck of the sweater. The only seams are the insides of the sleeves and the underarms.
