This hip and versatile little number can be worn as a hat OR a cowl! So, there’s really two designs in one! The Maddie is knitted in the round, on size US6 16-inch circular needles, and includes a cabled ribbing, eyelets, beads, and a beaded bind off (all beads are optional!). The pattern includes bead instructions, and options for the drawstring. The featured hat was done with a leather lace, for added texture. The gauge is 6 stitches per inch & 7 rounds per inch. You will need size US6 16-inch circular needles, one skein of Leading Men Fiber Arts DK weight yarn (Evil Queen is the featured color), up to 108 size 6 glass beads, a cable hook/needle, a stranding needle (for the beads), a size US7 DPN (double-pointed needle…for the bind off), and a darning needle, to weave in your ends. Blocking is essential, to the top edge of this piece, and a little starch was used at the same time.
