The Marcus Scrubby is a great little addition to your kitchen cleaning arsenal. Because it is washable and reusable, it is eco-friendly. Made with a special scrubby yarn in either cotton or polyester, it has little rough nubbly bits that really get that baked on food off of your dishes, pots and pans without scratching them.

This is a very easy pattern but the yarn isn’t the easiest to work with. All I can say is be persistent… after you’ve made a couple of these, your hands seem to figure out how to work with it and it gets a lot easier. So grab some yarn, make some up, give them as gifts and use them yourself!

About the name…. Marcus is one of the long dogs at Long Dog Wool. The scrubby is named for him because when I made the prototype, he obviously didn’t read the label and mistook it for a new toy for himself. I never did get it back from him. Neither did Roxy, the other long dog, and usually she can steal anything from him. Marcus loves his scrubby and I love Marcus. So this pattern is now his.
