The Mingle sweater/ Blouse is a fantastic new design in which we achieve the cowl neck. It is very easy pattern. It can be dressed up with a skirt and high heels or dressed down with trainers and jeans. Or even work as a part of jean, heels and cute necklace night out outfit. I am absolutely in love with it.
The pattern and instructions are both in UK and USA terminology. UK is in bold!

Instructions
Yarn OPTION 1: Same as the photo:
King Cole Zig zag 300 m = 1356 m =1380y

OPTION 2:

Alternatively, you can use any 4ply yarn with good drape i.e. natural fibres whether merino wool, alpaca or cotton. The cotton needs to be soft and not rough as for to make a bag.

As we know natural fibres have good drape and that is exactly what this sweater/bouse needs in order to achieve the natural flow and fall of the cowl.

Drape If you are unfamiliar with the term – Drape is the way the crocheted fabric falls and sits on the body. Natural fibres have better drape than acrylic. Mixed fibres also have good drape. The thicker the yarn the worse the drape is.
Pattern tip
Pattern tip – you can use any pattern for this jumper, just make sure that the pattern is not too dense as the drape will not be on your side. And as always, please make a swatch to measure your work.

Hook used 5 mm
I have used larger hook than recommended as I wanted the whole piece to be floaty. If you use the correct hook size for this type of yarn you will end up with dense fabric and you will will need to recreate the jumper.
Tension/ gauge 10cm/10cm (4’x4’) 18 st x12 rows

The fit is loose. There is no reduction of the waist. The shape of the jumper adopts the shape of the body. It also adds additional fabric to the front which drapes and it appear a bit longer.
