This pattern creates a beautiful whimsical floral balloon decoration for your kids, or for yourself. Make one and hang in the window as a sweet focal point, or make several and create a gorgeous baby mobile to hang above the crib.

The finished mini bloom balloon measures approximately 6 cm wide and 15 cm tall.

The balloon was designed as a collaboration with the Swedish company Falkgarn as they let me test their amazing cotton yarn. I highly recommend it as it has a perfect shine and gives great definition. It’s very similar to Scheepjes Catona but is finer threaded.

But if you can’t get a hold of it; please don’t worry, You can totally use any kind of yarn you like, I have seen it been done with everything from acrylic to wool and they are adorable as well.

The pattern calls for a size 2,5 mm hook but if you know that you crochet tightly please go up a size so it doesn’t end up feeling snugged.

Other materials are a piece of fishing thread to hang it up with when finished, some stuffing, scissor and a needle.

Stitch markers, a big warming cup of tea (or coffee if that’s what you fancy) and something sweet to nibble on is not mandatory but well recommended.
