The Mug Shrug is knit from the bottom up. First knit the base and the decorative welt in the round. Then, knit the sides flat while simultaneously attaching them to the base. Finish off with the I-cord edging and button loop. This pattern includes both charted and written instructions.

Techniques used: Knit, purl, working in the round, increasing, cabling, picking up sts, i-cord BO.

Sizes:
S (M, L) to fit mug (circ x height) 10” x 4” (10.5” x 4.5”-5”, 10.75” x 6”)
Note: Both the Woven Cable and Honeycomb versions can be knit in any size.

Yarn:
Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted* Superwash:
MC (Woven Cable: blue; Honeycomb: brown): 40 (45, 50) yds
CC (Woven Cable: brown; Honeycomb: blue): 15 (25, 35) yds

(NOTE: If substituting yarn, please note that this yarn is thinner than a traditional worsted yarn. Thin Worsted/DK/Sport weight yarns work well as substitutes. A yarn that blocks well, such as wool, is also recommended.)

Needles:
US 6 DPNs (5), US 6 circular (32”)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
