With this pattern, I wanted to prove that any yarn could be used to make a sturdy basket. It is not about the yarn, it is all about the techniques.

These cute little baskets will lighten up any dull corner in your home, and you only need one 50g ball of yarn, to make a cute little basket!

The inspiration for this pattern came from the Ndebele tribe, one of the tribes in Southern Africa.

The official yarn is Colours of Grace, Rachel - a 4-ply cotton made in South Africa, hand-coloured by Melani Claessens from Colours of Grace. This is an amazing yarn to work with. Order yours from www.yarninabarn.co.za, they ship world-wide.

You could also use this pattern as a stash buster project. The thicker the yarn, the bigger the basket, and vice versa.

I cannot wait to see your projects.
