This lightweight wrap features two lace stitches. The focal stitch is a fairly dramatic knit stitch that shows up nicely whether you are using solid, semi-solid or variegated yarn. It is a very elegant wrap without being difficult to knit. The border stitch is a slightly more “feminine” eyelet stitch, to offset the geometric focal stitch. The two stitches together create a lovely shawl that is quite easy to knit. The final size is 22 inches by 74 inches. There are also instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting)

The stitch patterns are both charted and written out line by line.

The yarn used in the sample is Handmaiden’s Merino Sea Wool, in colorway, Violetta.

The shawl was expertly pattern tested by: Eleanor Dixon, who can be reached at: eledixon@ comcast.net, and is known on Ravelry as “eledixon”.
