My Octopus Poncho pattern was inspired by my 3 year old daughter. I wanted to make her a piece of clothing that wouldn’t take weeks to knit up but that I thought she would wear. I’ve never made her anything other than beanies so I wasn’t sure if she’d wear a knit sweater so it needed to be a pattern that was quick to make so I didn’t waste TONS of time on something that wasn’t going to get worn.
But as you can see from the photos she loves it so I’ll definitely be designing her more patterns in the future.

As I said, this pattern works up quickly, it’s a simple stockinette and garter stitch pattern with a chart worked in a different colour to create the Octopus.
