We know it’s your constitutional right to knit, but as you’re painfully aware Big Obligations, such as sleeping and going to work, are trying to take away your knitting time and there’s nothing you can do about it. Or is there? I’m Jacquline Rivera, and I’m here to sell you on a life-changing opportunity with the Great Old Ones. No longer will you have to fear for your precious knitting time, because we here at the National Eldritch Blast Association know that the only thing worse than no time to knit is someone interrupting your knitting time. The National Eldritch Blast Association endeavors to provide a pact with the Great Old Ones for every occasion. When you knit The Pact, you’ll gain more than the loss of your soul!

This cowl is worked in the round from the bottom to the top using the double knitting technique to create two layers of fabric at the same time with only one pair of needles, resulting in an entirely reversible piece of art for your neck. This pattern assumes that this is not your first double knitting project.

Yarn
Lattes & Llamas Geek-A-Long Yarn (100 grams/ 328 yards) or a comparable sport weight yarn in three contrasting colorways. Sample is shown in ‘Palpatine’ (MC), Slimer (CC1), and Half-Orc (CC2).

MC: one skein or 94 grams/ 309 yards
CC1: one skein or 29 grams/ 96 yards
CC2: one skein or 57 grams/ 187 yards

I recommend taking a picture of your yarn and greyscaling the photo to make sure there is a heavy contrast between the Main Color (MC) and the two Contrasting Colors (CC). Since the two CC’s never touch, those two do not need to have a heavy contrast between them.

Needles
US4 / 3.50 mm 24” circular needles

Gauge
21 sts = 4” in double sided knitting in the round, blocked

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but variations will affect yardage and final measurements.

Finished Size
Measurements are taken after blocking:
30.5 inches around; 15.25 inches flat; 9.75 inches deep

The circumference of the cowl can be adjusted by adding repeats of the chart. Though, these variations will affect yardage requirements.
