For many of us, as soon as we learn the art of crochet, we want to make a granny square blanket. For me, this has been very frustrating! My squares never came out square, and joining them was very confusing.

After many years of reading up on this, lots of trial and error and many abandoned projects, I’ve finally found a way to make perfectly square granny squares. I’ve also found a simple, neat way to join the squares that doesn’t take away from the beauty of the granny square itself. And along the way, I’ve collected a lot of other tips that will make your quest of conquering the granny square blanket a whole lot easier.

The pattern includes my 6 tips for mastering the granny square blanket and has many step-by-step photo’s to guide you (these photo’s are included at the end of the pattern on separate pages, to make printing easier). Not only will you be spared the frustration of having to learn this the hard way, but you will also end up with a beautiful blanket with a gorgeous border to show off your brand new skills!

Detailed information on yarn substitution as well as adjusting the pattern to make your own novelty sizes, are also included in the pattern.
