I’m sure everyone has their own idea of the “perfect” vanilla sock - well this is mine. After much trial and error I think this has the ideal mix of toes, heels and cuffs. I hope you’ll agree!

Updated on 22nd June 2016

The pattern has been updated and now includes multiple sizes and a photo tutorial for the short row heel as well as having been generally polished up around the edges to take account of feedback since the original publication. I hope you like the revisions!

Sizes - measured around midfoot

  • Small - 6.5”/16.5cm unstretched, 8”/20.25cm stretched
  • Medium - 8”/20.25cm unstretched, 10”/25.5cm stretched
  • Large - 9”/22.75cm unstretched, 11”/28cm stretched

I’d love it if you’d come to my group to show off your lovely socks, or chat about them while you’re making them. You’d be very welcome!
