The Ray Of Hope crochet along starts on January the 15th 2021. The design is inspired by stained glass windows and the beautiful colour they throw into the room as the sun shines through.

This beautiful join as you go blanket features over 40 crochet stitches which will be made over 46 weeks.

The reason for the long time frame is so that it is easier to keep up for those with busy lives and have a small piece each week to create. This way no one will feel left behind others in our friendly Facebook group - which you can join here

We start with the central mandala which will be made over the first 3 weeks. We then move onto the outer pieces, 40 in total. Each of these pieces features a different crochet stitch. We will make 1 piece each week, joining them together as we go. Then in week 44 we start on the outer border which we will complete over the final 3 weeks.

The pattern will be released every Friday at 8pm GMT. It is available for free on my blog at https://thecoolcrochetsociety.com/the-ray-of-hope-crochet-along/but you can purchase the ad free printable pattern here on Ravelry, which will be updated each week

The yarn I used in the pictures is Scheepjes softfun which is a DK yarn. I am also making a blanket in Stylecraft Special DK. The gauge is not important for this design unless you wish your finished piece to be the same size as mine - 1.25 metres wide

I have used 18 different colours, but you could use more or less - I wouldn’t recommend fewer than 4 though.
I used 1 x 50g ball of Scheepjes Softfun for each of the outer panel colours, which are also used for the coloured puffs in the outer border. I then used an additional 50g ball for each of the 4 colours in the central mandala. Finally I used 6 balls of black to join all the pieces and as my main colour for the border, making 27 balls of Scheepjes Softfun in total.

You will also need 11 stitch markers and a 4mm and 3mm hook.

Once you purchase the pattern you will be able to download the info pdf with details on the yarn * have used. Your first pattern will be uploaded on the 15th of January at 8pm, then each pattern will be uploaded each friday after that.
