The Red Pointy Hat is a simple, classic design with a playful silhouette and a clean finish. Worked in the round from the brim up, it features a snug ribbed edge, smooth stockinette body, and a sharply tapered crown finished with a short i-cord tip.

This hat is inspired by the traditional Nesselue, a knit cap with deep roots in Northern Europe. During World War II, particularly under Nazi occupation in Norway, the Nesselue became a quiet symbol of resistance. As occupying forces restricted national symbols, language, and public expressions of Norwegian identity, everyday items like traditional knit caps allowed people to signal solidarity and cultural pride without overt confrontation. Wearing the hat was a small but intentional act—visible, understood, and quietly defiant.

Traditionally knit in red or blue, the Nesselue reflects how ordinary, practical garments can carry meaning far beyond their function.
