This zig-zagging rib pattern creates a vertical ripple as you work it. Easy for beginning knitters and attractive for any blanket, the directions here are for a baby or lap-sized blanket and matching hat.

This is one of those portable projects, very easy to make while chatting with knitsibs.

I made the blanket in the pictures from donated yarn, and then donated the blanket to hospice.
