I made these socks for ScareFest and it was such a fun challenge to make a pair of socks inspired from a scary movie.

The pattern will be published after the scarefest.

I chose Let The Right One In, a Swedish film about a boy that gets to know a strange girl in the neighborhood. I recommend watching the Swedish version with subtitles.

If you want a bigger sock, you can switch to heavier fingering weight yarn and bigger needles.

It’s smart to start the LBJ-s already in the first chart even though it’s just 5 stitches between because they go around the entire sock: I did it without my first time knitting them because I’m experienced with stranded colorwork and was sure I could make it stretchy enough, but I had to frog and make it LBJ-s after all.

I found this video very useful to learn about LBJ-s!

You will need most of the black/dark grey. For the contrast colors you can easily use leftovers.

That’s it! Have some popcorn, watch a movie (or listen to the audiobook), and knit some socks!
