This is an advanced-level pattern written in US terms. For best results, you need to have good control over your tension. Tight stitches give this hat structure. You can customize your Ringmaster Top Hat by permanently attaching the horns, using magnets to make them removable, or skipping the horns completely. One of my testers turned hers into an amazing steampunk hat! (check out the tester gallery)

You can use wire around the brim to allow for shaping and to provide structure. Please note, this hat with all the add-ons (especially magnets) is a pretty heavy hat. This pattern is written to accommodate 3 different sizes, with a head circumference ranging from 21-23 inches.
