Princess of Quite a Lot Hat
and Little Prince Hat

This is a great stash-busting project as small amounts of 12 colors are used. For some reason, I love putting my “all” into hats meant for children. Extra care, extra color, extra pop all go into hats that might fit for just a little while. If they are amazing, they earn a “forever spot” on a precious doll or teddy bear. All my life I have been inspired by color and lots of it. Mary Engelbreit’s colors have always drawn my attention. Pantone may rule the fashion world, but brights always rule my designs. This hat is a little homage to ME and the joy her colors bring me.

This may be a hat geared to children, but we all keep a little “inner child” with us through life, so an adult size is included as well!

This hat can easily be done in just a couple of colors - black and white, black white and red, black, white and grey, whatever is at hand. Photo colors are just suggestions.

This hat is easier than it looks. There are NEVER more than 2 colors on a round/row. Any areas showing more colors have been added after knitting using duplicate stitch or embroidery and are optional. Crown and/or His or Her (HRH) Royal Highness earflaps are also optional.

Instructions for making the fur pom pom included in pattern.
Materials: Cascade 220 used in hats in photos.
