The legendary river flowing through Paris’s heart inspires the Seine sweater. Its flowing cables along the yoke mirror the Seine’s graceful mix of straight lines and soft curves. The classic stripes nod to the iconic French marinière—a traditional striped sailor shirt that has become a timeless symbol of French style.

A modern twist on a wardrobe classic, Seine plays with texture and features wide, gently draped sleeves that add a hint of bohemian charm to this elegant, wearable piece.

Construction:
The Seine sweater is a top-down raglan intended to be worn with 5–15 cm / 2–6” of positive ease. It worked seamlessly in the round using fingering-weight yarn. The sleeves are wide, and to maintain the fluid drape of the design, I recommend using a yarn with similar weight and characteristics.

The collar, cuffs, and hem are worked using double knitting, creating a clean and structured finish.

Short rows in stockinette stitch are placed at the back of the neck for a comfortable fit. The yoke features a flowing cable pattern, while the body and part of the sleeves are worked in contrasting stripes.
