The Skipper Middy Collar is a quick and practical sailor collar to enhance your outfits and your temperature. The collar is knit in garter stitch with eyelet details and an applied icord edge for a nautical contrast.

This pattern has a lot of wiggle room in yarn selection. You could use a lace mohair held double, a dk weight held single, a sassy boucle - it’s up to you. However your main and contrast colors should end up at a similar gauge. You should aim for a fabric that feels good to make and wear.
In the red sample, I used lace weight mohair held double for the body and a light fingering held double for the icord
edging.

I particularly love using up an extra skein from a sweater project to create a matching set.
