This shawl starts out with a large garter section lulling you into a trance before setting off on a mosaic knitting adventure.

Finished Measurements

The large version of this shawl measures 80 inches (203 cm) from tip-to-tip and 20 inches (50 cm) deep.

The small version of this shawl measures 59 inches (149 cm) from tip-to-tip and 14 1/2 in (37 cm) deep.

Materials

  • Large: 3 skeins of Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn (100g/437 yards/400 meters); or approx. 1,040 yards of fingering weight yarn in 2 colors. You will need approx. 810 yards in color A and approx. 230 yards in color B.
  • Small: 2 skeins of Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn (100g/437 yards/400 meters); or approx. 420 yards of fingering weight yarn in 2 colors. You will need approx. 320 yards in color A and approx. 100 yards in color B.

Be sure to check your yardage as many fingering weight yarns have only 400 yards per skein

Construction Notes

This shawl is worked from tip to edge, then neatly finished with an I-Cord bind-off. Asymmetrical increases create an elongated triangle shape. The mosaic pattern is worked using a single color for each garter ridge and strategically placed slip-stitches.
