The Star is a little shoulder-season mini-scarf! Knit it with soft scraps in wool or cotton. It’s just long enough to wear as a little neckerchief or as a tied wrap for your hair. It has a nice diamond shape, which can be styled flat or folded over.

The sample shown uses scraps in three colors—you’ll need about 20g of C1 (Malabrigo Yarn Sock in Ochre), 8g of C2 (Frank Ochre), and 8g of C3 (Candombe) to replicate this gradient, but you don’t have to—it can sure be knit in one color instead, or with scraps, or any way you want to do it, really.

Materials:

• 36g total/160yds total Malabrigo Yarn Sock or similar; C1: 20g/88yds; C2: 8g/35yds, C3: 8g/35yds
• 1 set of DPNs in US3/3.25mm, or size needed for gauge
• 1 16” circular needle in same size
• tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• removable stitch markers—you may be able to read your knitting pretty easily on this project, but they’re good to have if they help you keep track of a specific stitch.

Gauge:
Gauge is 11 sts and 20 rows over 4”/10cm in pattern, worked in the round and measured at the center of the piece.

Measurements:
One size! This mini scarf is 35”/89cm long, and 7.5”/19cm wide at the widest point.
