The Star City crescent shawl and Star city shawl redux have been merged for simplicity sake. Hope this isn’t too confusing.**
This is an A-line, crescent, wrap around shawl designed for worsted or bulky weight yarn. It sits comfortably over the shoulders and wraps loosely across the chest. It is highly textured, particularly through use of moss/seed stitch and ribbing.
It extends midway down the back but can be easily enlarged both length-wise and depth-wise.
The suggested gauge is unblocked. Gauge does not have to be exact and will depend on each individual’s choice of yarn and needle size. Larger and smaller needles may be used according to the yarn chosen.
This is perfect as a stash buster. Just coordinate your choice of colors and weights of yarn for a pleasing effect.
All samples have been knit using size 9 needles but sizes 8 and 10 are also suitable.
This shawl has been designed especially for hospitalized patients and invalids.
Once the shape is established, it is easy to change the stitch patterns used and to repeat patterns that are particularly pleasing.

errata: Row 12 should read: K3, Yo, K1, (K2, YO, K1, YO) to last 4 stitches, K1, YO, K3
