These are top down socks using fingering weight sock yarn with a cast on of 74 sts. The socks have a heel flap and gusset decrease.

The pattern was written based on using 2 small circular needles but can also be knit using dpns or magic loop.

The pattern can be used for socks for both him and her. To make a larger sock a thicker yarn quality must be used. It will be your gauge that determines the sock size.

For medium size female socks:
Materials needed will vary dependent on what color you choose for the cuff, heel and toe. In general, you should have two 50 g skeins of color 1 and one skein of color 2.
This is based on gauge range 28-36 stockinette sts for 10 cm with 2 threads for the pattern.

For male sizes you should use a thicker yarn to get larger size, typical 26-28 stockinette sts for 10 cm.

The gauge referred to above is based on the yarn from Sandnes - Sisu Solids. The yarn label however says 27 sts on 10 cm (stockinette sts with one color).
