The Stone Lopapeysa
I love making patterns inspired by Iceland and Icelandic nature. This one has quite the story!
The story behind The Stone Pattern
I went on a road trip around Iceland and when I was in the tiny town of Djúpivogur the weather was horrible. It was pooring rain, so I decided to visit Auðunn’s Stone and Mineral Collection on a whim.
Beside the fact that Auðunn can tell amazing stories about how he found each stone, the stones itself are absolutely gorgeous. I found one stone that had so many different colors, it was unbelievable.
One of the ladies who was on the tour with me said it would make a great sweater pattern and that I should try to make it. So I did. And the result is visible in this pattern!
