The Summer Bag is a comfortable, lightweight, everyday tote designed to be your perfect companion for sunny days. I first designed this piece for a vacation to the Bahamas in 2026, and after receiving so many compliments, I knew I had to share the pattern with the maker community!

Design Features

Two Looks in One: This bag is designed to be completely reversible. Wear it with the sophisticated Herringbone Crochet Stitch facing out for a rich, woven texture, or flip it inside out for a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Sophisticated Texture: The Herringbone body paired with single-crochet side panels creates a modern, structured look that pairs perfectly with linen maxi dresses or casual summer outfits.

Comprehensive Video Support: The pattern includes step-by-step video tutorials for specialized techniques, including the “Strong Structure” foundation, the Herringbone stitch, and internal pocket assembly.

Pattern Specifications

Finished Measurements: Approx. 10” (26cm) height when flattened / 13.5” (34cm) when standing. Width/Diameter: Approx. 18” (46cm).

Yarn: Ra-Ra Raffia from Wool and the Gang (100g/273yd/250m per ball).

Yardage:

Standard Bag: Approx. 2.5 balls.

With Interior Pockets: Approx. 4.5 balls.

Hooks: 5.00mm (8/0) for the main body; 4.00mm (7/0) for panels/handles.

Straps: 24” leather straps (Search “23.62” PU leather straps” on Amazon) or handmade raffia straps (instructions included).
