The Sun Standing Still hat is a celebration of light and colour for the Winter Solstice. The return of the sun is an important and uplifting event in the narrow Bella Coola Valley which is surrounded by tall, majestic mountains that block the sun for many months.

This hat, in small, medium and large, incorporates the Filigree chart pattern from Alterknit Stitch Dictionary, 2017. The Noro yarn colour I used is discontinued so I have suggested another colour. Of course, knitters will be knitters and use whatever they have on hand and I know you will come up with wild and wonderful versions of The Sun Standing Still.
