The Susurrate Shawl is a half-pi shape, two-color brioche lace shawl. Knitters should be proficient in two-color brioche knitting.

-- For this pattern, you will need to do the following increases and decreases in two-color brioche: brkyobrk, brpyobrp, br4st inc, brp6st inc, brLsl, brRsl, brpLsl, brpRsl, br4st dec. Video support for all of these stitches can be found here.

-- Both written instructions and charts are included in the pattern. Please note that Chart E is in two parts and Chart F is in six parts. It is recommended that you print out the chart pages and tape them together to be able to read each chart in one piece.

-- One size: 87.5”/222 cm across the neckline edge, 38”/96.5 cm center depth. Measurements taken after blocking.

-- You will need about 800 yds of a Main Color fingering weight yarn and about 800 yds of a Contrast Color fingering weight yarn. A high contrast between the yarns is desirable in order to show off the brioche stitch best.

The yarn used in the sample is:
Main Color: 2 skeins Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight in Empyreal (off-white)
(100% Superwash Merino; approx: 405 yds /370 m, 5.15 oz / 146 g per skein.)

Contrast Color: 2 skeins Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight in Enchanted Forest (green)
(100% Superwash Merino; approx: 405 yds /370 m, 5.15 oz / 146 g per skein.)

A note about the yarn used in the sample: Socks That Rock Lightweight is one of my desert island yarns. It has a nice tight twist and is heavier than most fingering/sock weight yarns. To knit this large shawl, I used all but 9g of two skeins of the MC and 12g of two skeins of the CC. Please know! The quantities specified do not allow for yardage to be used for swatching and additional skeins may need to be purchased. Whatever yarn you choose, I hope it is a yarn you love as much as I love STR! Thank you!
