The Sweater Weather Socks are a textured sock pattern inspired by the classic and cozy fisherman’s sweaters. Featuring three distinct styles of texture (ribbing, moss stitch, and diamond cables), the pattern is worked with only knits, purls, and simple 1/1 cables.

The cables have both charts and written instructions.

There are four size options: S, M (L, XL), designed to fit a foot circumference of 17.5, 20 (23, 25.5) cm/7, 8 (9, 10)” measured at the ball of the foot.

Sample Yarn:
The Cream sample uses Briggs & Little Durasport, 393m/113gr (80% Wool, 20% Nylon/Polyamide) Size L used 89gr (note this is a thicker fingering-weight yarn, which creates a denser sock fabric, but a classic 400m/100gr sock yarn will also work!)

The Red sample uses Leo & Roxy Basics Fingering, 425m/100gr (75% Wool, 25% Nylon/Polyamide) Size M used 62gr

Needles:
-2.5mm sock knitting needles (or needle size needed to achieve gauge)
The pattern is written for magic loop, though can be knit with DPNs or small circulars if preferred!

Materials:
-100 grams of fingering-weight sock yarn
-stitch markers, and unique BOR marker
-cable needle (optional)
-tapestry needle for grafting

Gauge:
-34 sts per 10x10cm/(4x4”)
-44 rows per 10x10cm/(4x4”), though row gauge can vary depending on yarn chosen and personal gauge. The pattern offers guidance on how to modify the leg or foot length based on row gauge, your foot measurements, and the texture sections.
