You do not have to purchase an Advent kit to make this wrap, you could just gather together 24 minis or scrap yarn from your stash (each section takes about 15g).
My only recommendation is that you have a little contrast in colour between changes to make the stranded colourwork pop, but again it’s your wrap so you do whatever you fancy!

Stitch markers are optional, the pattern is an easy repeat but if you feel more comfortable definitely throw some in.

I have designed the Sweet Shop Owner Wrap with a 24 x20g mini skein Advent Calendar in mind, but an Advent is not essential to complete this project. There are so many possibilities and options with colours and yarn - you could arrange your minis in a gradient fade, to have high contrast. This is a great way to use up all those beautiful leftover yarns in your stash. This is a simple pattern with garter stitch and easy lace with a little basic colour work thrown in for good measure. The pattern naturally creates some fun edge shaping and the regular colour changes will keep you wanting to knit on. The Sweet Shop Owner is bound to tantalise your taste buds.
