This top is worked from the top (yoke) down to the hips in one piece. The picture tutorial gives an explanation on how to make this top using average sizing for age groups (1 - 12yrs) or you can use custom measurements.

There is no stitch count and you use a measuring tape to make sure that the yoke and chest/body piece matches the lengths provided in the charts (or these lengths can be based on custom measurements). This makes the pattern very versatile because you can easily tailor the top to fit your child and you can use a variety of yarns. Although for a summer top I do recommend using cotton or a cotton blend.
