The Traveler Slouchy
The Traveler Slouchy is designed with bulky weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Mecha, but any bulky yarn of your choice can be used instead. This hat is crocheted from the bottom up in the round using half double crochet through the back loop only (HDCBLO) starting with a ribbed stitch and then increasing in the first round of the body slightly - this gives a better fit. Half double crochet through the back loop only is continued all the way to the top, including the decreases.
The pattern is for a hat that will fit a small to medium-sized adult head. If the head you are crocheting for is bigger or smaller, you can make adjustments pretty easily by measuring the beginning chain. The ribbing should be snug but stretchy. The hat will have a slouchy look, hence the name.
If you need help with HDC through the back loop only (HDCBLO), there are tons of tutorials out there.
