It’s the twentieth anniversary of Blue Moon Fiber Arts, and the Tenth Anniversary of the Traveling Sweater!

We’re celebrating with a ground-up, brand-new rebuild on the pattern, with a new XS/S size, tons of schematics, and tutorials to help you on your way. Enjoy $1 off the pattern from now until mid-June, 2020!

And Blue Moon has a brand-new yarn, Aria, that’s a worthy new substitute for our dearly departed Woobu.

There’s even a new companion PDF with instructions on how to work up your Traveling Sweater with a ‘no-spine’ back (shown in the colorway ‘Pond Scum’ in the photos here).

SIZES: XS/S (M/L, XL)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
• Back span (underarm to underarm across back):
21.5 (22.5, 25)“ 55 (57, 63.5)cm
• Wingspan (from wrist to wrist across back):
57 (60.5, 64.5)” 145 (153, 163.5)cm

YARN REQUIREMENTS
1950 (2250, 2750) yards 1783 (2057, 2515)m
Sport-weight part-wool, part-silk yarn; choose a blend that averages 225-275 yards per 100g for best drape.

Note: the yardage for the M/L size is really close to 4 full skeins of Aria - if you are the sort of person who worries about running out, or need to lengthen your sleeves, consider purchasing a 5th skein.

Thank you for all the support of this pattern over the last ten years. We’re excited to see the new versions you’ll be knitting now that Blue Moon has a great new yarn, Aria, that knits up as beautifully as Woobu did!

We’ll be doing a KAL starting in mid-June, hosted in my Ravelry group, where I’ll be on-call for answering questions, offering advice, and linking to YouTube tutorial videos on each step of the process. Whether you have the original pattern from Blue Moon or the new Tenth Anniversary edition, you can KAL with us as we plan future travels and knit ‘Apart Together,’ dreaming of a time when we can travel and visit with our knitting friends again.

The original edition of the pattern was released by Blue Moon. This re-issue under my label represents a significant body of new work, so if you own the original pattern and want all the bonus features of the Anniversary re-issue in your Ravelry library, you’ll be purchasing the new edition here. We know that you’re trusting us with your precious creative funds at a tough time, so we’ve done everything we can to build in a ton of value into this edition.
