The Ultimate Mitten is a close fitting, felted, convertible mitten with an inner cuff. Yarn used is a feltable wool worsted weight with the option of adding mohair/silk blend. They are knit in the round using the Magic Loop method

I needed to come up with a mitten that could stand up to Alaskan winters keeping my hands protected from the cold, snow, and wind. But I still wanted to use my fingers when needed without taking the mittens off. Felting keeps out the wind and resists soaking through. The Ultimate Mitten fits closer than most felted mittens - losing that pot holder look - and the inner cuff keeps the wind and snow at bay. The convertible portion of the mittens is attached in such a way to allow the “pop-top” to lay flat against the back of your hand when pulled back as opposed to constantly flopping toward the fingertips.
