The newest member of my dinosaur knitting collection is this cheerful, chunky Triceratops that’s simple to make and the perfect size for cuddling.
This toy is knitted flat on straight needles (no knitting in the round) using basic stocking stitch with straightforward increases and decreases. Suitable for knitters with just a little experience,
when finished, the Triceratops measures approximately 50cm (about 20in) long.
The 8-page pattern includes detailed, step-by-step instructions and clear illustrations to guide you through both knitting and making up.

You will need:
Main colours: about 60g each of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Aspen (1422) and Stylecraft Special Chunky for Babies in Baby Blue (1232)
Accent colours: Stylecraft Special Chunky for Babies – about 30g Baby Pink (1230) and about 15g Baby Lemon (1233)
Additional: Small amounts of DK yarn for cheek and back circles, plus a length of black DK yarn for the eyes
You can of course substitute with any chunky-weight yarn of your choice.
You’ll also need: 4.5mm long straight knitting needles, toy stuffing, a darning needle
If you’re knitting for a young dinosaur enthusiast, you might also enjoy my other soft toy patterns: Baby T-Rex, Chubby Stegosaurus, and Cuddly Diplodocus.
