The Vilja Beanie is a classic cable design for intermediate knitters, and it’s knit with bulky weight (weight category #5) yarn. In this free pattern you’ll find full written instructions on how to knit the beanie from start to finish. Once you get through the double brim it only takes you 5 cable turns + the decreases and voilà, your beanie will be all ready to go!

Materials needed:

• 6mm / US 10 circular needles (Ø 40cm/16”) OR any needles to obtain the gauge
• Approximately 130m / 142 yards of light bulky weight (#5) yarn
• Gauge: 10x10cm / 4x4” of stockinette stitch with 6mm / US 10 needles = 14 stitches, 18 rows
• A cable needle or an extra DPN
• 6mm / US 10 DPNs for decreasing
