The Waffle Hood
The Waffle Hood is worked in one piece from tip to tip. It is worked flat, back and forth, in a fluffy structure with slipped stitches. The hood is shaped using increases, decreases and short rows. No mounting/sewing needed!
The waffle structure is knitted with needles that are thick in relation to the yarn, to achieve an airy effect.
Sizes:
One size (adult)
Gauge:
31 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 4 x 4 inches in waffle stitch, after blocking
Needles:
5 mm US8 / 60 cm 24 inches circular needle

170 g Soft Merino Thin by ImagineWool (50 g = 167 m 183 yds)

Testers who worked in 2-ply wool have gathered the fabric sideways while wet, to hit gauge and to make the fabric as thick/fluffy as possible.
Techniques used:
Slipped stitches, German short rows, increases, decreases.
Accessibility:
This pattern is available for both right- and left-handed knitters.
