Ever noticed how waves at the shore crash into each other making patterns of intersecting lines that dance and play in the light? In this scarf pattern I have tried to capture the essence of those waves in yarn. The structure of the wavelet scarf is generated by offset triangles leading to a steeply pointed edge reminiscent of the breaking waves, with alternating lace and garter stich sections to represent the ripples.

The pattern is worked over one skein of yarn but can be expanded to any desired length.

Gauge is not important for this scarf pattern.
